Synopsis:
The story begins when Ebisumaru visits Goemon to tells him the news that a Beautiful Woman Ghost and her minions are attacking people! Then it gets worse as... Princess Yuki gets kidnapped! Goemon and Ebisumaru ally with a bunch of Ninja cats in order to save the day!

This was the first Goemon game released outside Japan. Its name worldwide was referred to as "Legend of the Mystical Ninja" although it had big references to Japanese culture, Konami did what they could to make it understandable. Some parts were edited and changed from the original, such as some humour that Nintendo may have thought was inappropiate for Western audiences, also the character names were changed as Goemon and Ebisumaru aren't the easiest names to pronounce. The names were turned into Kid Ying and Doctor Yang, however many fans complained about this modification so it was removed in future games.
