Goemon costume added to Smash Bros. Ultimate 05 Sep 2019
I'm sure you've already heard, but if not: After the latest Nintendo Direct (4th of September, 2019), Mr. Sakurai of Smash Bros. fame gave a demonstration of the new fighter duo to be added into Smash Bros. Ultimate: Banjo & Kazooie.
Towards the end of this presentation additional Download Content skins were announced. The most popular of these being Sans from Undertale, also including Zero from Mega Man X, Protoman for Mega Man and... Goemon from the Mystical Ninja series!

While some may be sad it is just a costume, it is great to see Goemon get recognition in a non-Konami game! This is certainly a feat I felt was impossible, and its wonderful to see recognition of the small base of Goemon fans.
